Comparable to a drawing of a palatial hall by Ferdinando Galli Bibiena exhibited at Philadelphia, D.M. Kelder, Drawings by the Bibiena family, exhib. cat., Philadelphia, Museum of Art, 1968, no. 1. Dr. John Harris, in a letter dated 23 November 2000, compares the present drawing to Three variations on a monumental stair hall attributed to Ferdinando Galli Bibiena formerly in the collections of Paul Fatio and Donald Oenslager, Four Centuries of scenic invention, exhib. cat., New York, Pierpont Morgan Library and elsewhere, 1974, no. 16, pl. 16.
