A COALPORT (JOHN ROSE) ORANGE-GROUND PART DESSERT SERVICE
Circa 1810
Painted in the Chinese taste with pavilions and willow trees reserved within ogival panels on the orange ground further reserved with flowerheads and gilt with foliate scrolls, comprising:
An oval teapot, cover and stand, 7½in. (19cm.) long, the stand
A cream-jug, 4in. (10.2cm.) high
A sugar-bowl with fixed ring handles, 5¼in. (13.3cm.) wide overall
A waste bowl, 6¼in. (15.8cm.) diam.
A waste-bowl with vcariant foot, 65/8in. (16.8cm.) diam.
A shaped square dish, 8in. (20.2cm.) square
Eight dessert plates, 8½in. (21.6cm.) diam.
Five teacups
Four coffee-cans
Three saucers in two sizes (27)
