Marco Casolanetti and Elenora Rossi are setting new standards in Marche. Working with enologist Giovanni Basso they are eliciting extraordinary results from the 35 year old Montepulciano vines with which they work. The soil is calcareous with sand and clay loam with a southern exposition at an altitude of 80 - 100 meters. One would never think that so much density could be elicited from this grape. The wine spends 18 to 20 months in 255 liter French barriques. The wine is structured beautifully, with impressive extract and subtle aromatics with rich flavours balanced by well integrated tannins.
This wine is virtually impossible to find in the marketplace.
