An early 19th Century lacquered-brass Jones' Most Improved pattern compound monocular microscope,
signed on the folding tripod stand Dollond London, the stage adjustable by rack and pinion within the square-section vertical pillar, located by a compass joint on the tapering pillar support with the folding tripod stand, the body-tube located on an arm arranged for adjustment, the stage with slide clamps and fittings for mounting the bull's-eye condenser, frog plate, lieberkuhn, polariser, supplementary eared stage and forceps, with objectives incorporating lieberkuhn, condenser, live-box, various ivory slides, each fitted with four specimens, and other items, in the original fitted mahogany case with one (of two) brass hooks and eyes, original lock with key -- 13½in. (34.3cm.) wide
