A French gilt-bronze and porcelain mounted striking mantel clock, circa 1870
The case surmounted by figures of an amorino and a cherub atop a nimbus and with doves, the sides with bowed porcelain panels painted with exotic birds within gilt reserves, a further panel to the front depicting two dancing lovers, flanked by portrait ovals of two ladies, the base with an acanthus cast gallery and raised on toupie feet, the white enamel Roman dial withe Arabic five minutes and signed CHARLES LEROY A PARIS, with pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell -- 18¾in. (47.5cm.) high
