The case with waisted pediment surmounted by an amorino reading a book, with porcelain urns to the angles, inset with porcelain panels painted variously with faeries and flowers within jewelled borders, raised on four scroll feet headed by winged caryatid busts, above an integral plinth with leaf cast feet, the annular porcelain dial with recessed centre, Roman reserves chapters and jewelled ornament, the centre decorated with sprays of flowers, with gilt spade hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell -- 21¾in. (55.5cm.) high; and the pair of six light candelabra en suite -- 23¾in. (60.5cm.) high (3)
