Lot Essay

This a very early copy of part of the work of this important Sufi poet. The opening flyleaf contains two inscriptions signed by Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Maulawi, dated 738 (1337-8 AD) and 750 (1349-50). His name also appears on a partially re-written note on the final folio dated 738, suggesting he may be the scribe of this copy.
