Lot Essay

The first work, Zubdat al-hay'at by Tusi has a colophon dated 753. The second work by al-Mas'udi deals with the semiotics and nature of the weather and other aspects of the natural world. The next two works are fragments of other authors' work. The fourth is Tusi's work on the astrolabe entitled Mukhtasar dar ma'rifat-i usturlab. There follow three short works on the zodiac, a passage in Arabic about the river Nile, and another astrological work, followed by Al-ikhtiyarat al-'ala'iyyah fi al-ikhtiyarat by Fakhr al-Din al-Razi (d. AH 606/1209 AD), another work on astrology. This is dated 14 Jumada 753. A final anonymous poetical work completes the volume.
