Paris, 1765/1766, with the charge and discharge marks of Jean-Jacques Prevost, maker's mark indistinct, later struck with two French import marks for gold 1864-1893, the miniature later
Circular box, the independent cover, sides and base of beige lacquer, the cover later inset with a circular enamel plaque painted with a Rococo scene depicting a gentleman seated at a table in front of a tent and served by two young ladies, within a reeded silver-gilt mount, the pierced gold mounts of cover and base stamped with ovolos and leaves, the inside lined with flecked brown composition
