Oblong, the cover set with an oval micromosaic of a Marlborough spaniel reclining on grassy ground, against a blue background, with a gold stiff-leaf inner border highlighted with black, and black and gold foliate scroll borders, the base with engine-turned interlacing, the grille a diaperwork pattern of interlocking rosettes, marked inside cover and base and on bezel
