Oval, the cover set with an Italian micromosaic of a pug in shades of cream and brown, wearing a red and white collar, seated on grassy ground, with trees in the distance, the borders, slightly bombé sides and base chased and engraved with berried foliage on a textured ground, with foliate scroll grille, the interior fitted slightly later as a vinaigrette, marked on border of grille, traces of marks inside base
