A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED SEVRES AND MEISSEN PORCELAIN POT-POURRI VASE AND COVER
The Meissen porcelain circa 1750, blue crossed swords marks to the back, the Sèvres porcelain circa 1770, its decoration 19th century assembled on a stepped pireced rocaille base
Meissen figures of putti masquerading set into naturalistically modelled platforms flanking a raised section set with an inverted pear-shaped sugar-bowl and cover, a pierced ormolu gallery added between the bowl and cover in order for it to become a pot-pourri; on the left a little girl in a yellow-lined puce-flowered pink cloak, on the left a little boy as a wig-maker holding a wig on its stand; the vase painted front and back with figures in rural landscape vignetes reserved within inverted pear-shaped cartouches edges with gilt ciselé flowering scrolls in the turquoise ground, the cover with ranunculus finial similarly decorated
