A GREEK BRONZE FIGURE OF HERAKLES
Hellenistic Period, Circa 2nd-1st Century B.C.
The muscular hero depicted nude standing with his weight on his left leg, leaning into his left hip, his right leg relaxed and bent at the knee, his right arm extended diagonally from his body, his head inclined slightly forward, his gaze following the direction of his right hand, the lion skin hanging over his bent left arm, the lion's head, mane and fore-paws well detailed, a now-missing attribute (perhaps his club) in his right hand, with short curly hair, the eyes once inlaid
