Full-page woodcut portrait of Ariosto (97 x 73mm) on title, woodcut printer's device on final verso. [Bound with:] ARIOSTO. La Lena. [N.p.: n.d.]. Italic type. Full-page woodcut portrait of Ariosto (87 x 67mm) on title. (Title of 2nd work on guard, light browning, occasional stain.) 8°, 19th-century red half roan, deckle edges preserved. These two works show two versions of the famous Ariosto portrait, based on an original by Titian. Ariosto's comedies were first played at the court of Ferrara.

Florence: Bernardo Giunti, 1546. 4° (213 x 147mm). Italic type, double column. Printer's device on title and final verso. (Washed, tears neatly repaired with slight loss, some text replaced in pen-and-ink.) 20th-century crushed tan morocco ruled in gilt, gilt edges. (3)
