London: Bernard Lintott [sic], 1715. 8° in half sheets, half-title and two leaf "Proposal" at end (half-title soiled and with ownership signature cut from upper corner, title also slightly soiled, some light browning), morocco-backed boards by Sangorski and Sutcliffe. FIRST EDITION of this early work of Pope's, an "imitation" of Chaucer's Hous of Fame. Foxon P974; Griffith 36; Rothschild 1572.
