FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM. Published shortly before Christmas 1893 but dated 1894 on the title, The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes contains eleven of twelve Holmes stories published in the Strand Magazine between December 1892 and 1893, the final one describing the hero's death at the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland. The 10,000 copies were priced at 6 shillings. Green and Gibson A14; Sadleir 746.
