A Chinese painted pottery model of an equestrian warrior
Northern Qi (550-577 AD)
the horse standing four square on a rectangular base, wearing a bridle and trappings, its head slightly turned to its left, the warrior wearing a helmet and long flowing robes, his left hand held up to his shoulder, painted in red, white and black pigments -- 13in. (33cms) high, (old wear, tail restuck, restoration to legs).
