A powder blue glazed temple jar and cover
18th century
with seated Buddhistic lion finial, painted in gilt with a shrine, pavilions and a pagoda set on riverbanks amongst pine, blossoming trees and rockwork in a mountainous landscape, the shoulder and cover rim with shaped lappets reserved with flower sprays and foliage, metal mount to neck and cover -- 23¼in. (59cms) high, (damages to cover), pierced and carved hardwood stand.
