Carter Cellars, owned by award-winning Eureka, California restauranteur Mark Carter, is a boutique producer of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Enlisting the help of Napa Valley wine consultant, Frederick Schrader and Nils Venge as winemaker, Carter recently released his first wine, the 1998 "Coliseum Block" 100 Cabernet Sauvignonfrom vineyards at the 1000 ft level on Atlas Peak. Robert Parker remarks that Nils has "an unbelievable track record of producing spectacular red wines..." Robert Parker's Wine Buyer's Guide, Fifth Ed. Production was 250 cases.
