A NORTH EUROPEAN WHITE-AND-BLUE-PAINTED AND PARCEL-GILT OVERMANTEL MIRROR
Late 18th early 19th Century
The rectangular plate within a Gothic moulded border flanked by spirally-reeded columns with lotus-leaf capitals simulated by a frieze carved with umbrellas hung with drops with cavetto-moulded cornice mounted with eleven dolphins issuing two bells and with stepped cresting, centred by a Chinaman with outstretched arms holding an umbrella, with two seated Chinamen to either side, the figures and the dolphins repositioned, refreshments to the decoration
