A RARE LARGE LATE MING CLOISONNE ENAMEL DISH
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The centre decorated with a yellow and a red five-clawed dragon in mutual pursuit amidst blue, red, yellow and white lotus flowers reserved on a blue ground, the steep well with a chrysanthemum meander and the broad everted rim with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, the reverse with the bajixiang around the well and large lotus flowers surrounding the nianhao within a rectangle of ruyi lappets on the base, all reserved on a blue ground (small areas of restoration)--19¾in. (50cm.) diam.
