Of rectangular shape decorated in gold, red and black takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, togidashi, nashiji and kirigane on a roiro ground with Rosei reclining on a lacquer daybed, his face visible through a fan of applied aogai, his vision of a horse-drawn carriage surrounded by retainers depicted on the reverse, interior cases nashiji; fitted with a gilt-metal ojime with reticulated floral design and a lacquered wood manju netsuke inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, colored ivory and eggshell with plum, peony and carnation blooms--3 5/8in.
