The miniature writing box enclosed within a gyobu saya-type sheath with a shaped openwork panel to one side, lacquered on the lid in iro-e takamaki-e, gold togidashi, nashiji and kirigane on a fundame ground with herons, willows and camellias by a stream, the top and bottom sides matching gyobu, containing a silver mizuire and an inkstone, nashiji interior; fitted with a coral bead ojime and a wood netsuke carved as a frog on a leaf--3 5/8in. (9.2cm.) high
