The tall, rectangular box decorated with an overall pattern of folded and open fans on rippling water against a dense nashiji ground, the fans differently patterned with flowers, shells, crabs, trees and birds in gold and silver hiramaki-e, nashiji, togidashi, roiro and kirigane, the interiors red lacquer with fundame rims--10½ x 9 5/8 x 14¾in.
