The long, slender cylinder decorated with a single iron-red dragon leaping amidst scattered flower sprigs set between a border of ruyi heads at the upper rim and a band of leaf tips interrupted by the nianhao reserve at the bottom rim, the end glazed green

Compare the closely related brush handle, with its cap, also with a vertical reign mark within a cartouche, illustrated by Regina Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 2, London, 1994, pp. 88-91, no. 711.
