A MUGHAL STYLE GREENISH-GRAY JADE OVAL BOWL AND COVER
The thinly carved oval bowl raised on four curved blade-shaped supports, the underside of the base carved in relief with a flowerhead surrounded by pierced foliate scroll, the back of the flower carved inside the interior, the motif repeated as a pair of handles suspending loose rings at either end and with a pair of small flower-sprig handles suspending further loose rings projecting from the longer sides, the cover carved and pierced with a band of foliate scroll surrounding a similar domed band at the base of the flowerhead knop, a large blossom with hollowed, spiraled petals set beneath inside the cover, the translucent stone with fine dark speckling
