A RARE PAINTED GRAY POTTERY FIGURE OF A STANDING FOREIGNER
TANG DYNASTY
The figure, possibly Mongolian, standing on a rectangular base with head tilted upwards and the features of his full face well defined, the hair combed back and tied at the nape of the neck where it divides into three strands, wearing a thick fur coat partially open in front and back revealing his undergarments and falling over tall black boots, his left hand concealed within the sleeve, with traces of white, black, peach and pink pigments
