Lot Essay

Although Geyger received accolades for his early work in painting and engraving, he began to experiment with lost wax casting and direct modelling of malleable metals such as copper soon after he finished his studies at the Berlin Academy. The present model of Bogenschütze is a reduction of the monumental copper original first exhibited at the Grosse Berliner Kunstausstellung in 1900.
