A SILVER MOUNTED TIGERWARE JUG, bearing spurious marks for London, 1580, maker's mark IWC, with later added spout, the globular body with cylindrical neck, on raised, molded silver foot, chased with bands of fruit and stylized foliage, the neck mount engraved with birds on naturalistic ground, the loop handle with silver box, three sides engraved with initials, supporting hinge and cherub's mask thumbpiece to the raised cover, chased with flowerspray and cartouches on matted ground, topped by baluster finial above fluted disc calyx--9¾in. (24.7cm.) high
