The rectangular double-tiered box fitted on the top tier with ten removable boxes containing rectangular wood game pieces lacquered in gold with various plants and flowers, the box decorated on the sides gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with hirame-sprinkled black ground and various kirigane details with landscapes, the recessed nashiji lid applied with gilt silver plum blossoms with silver leaves, the interior of the lower case and base nashiji- 7 5/8 x 3 1/8 x 2 1/2 in. (19.3 x 8 x 6.3 cm.)
