The rectangular writing box with rounded corners decorated on the lid with the pine-studded cliffs of Matsushima and gold waves rendered in gold hiramaki-e, brownish-gold takamaki-e and kirigane details, the interior decorated in black, gold and silver togidashi and nashiji with shaped and undulating bands of decoration, fitted with a silver mizuire cast in the form of a chrysanthemum floret, small dent, silver rims- 8 3/8 x 7 3/4 x 1 1/4 in. (21.4 x 19.6 x 3 cm.)
