The waisted glazed case with ebony mouldings, tapered rounded drop and sliding hood fitted with gilt bezel enclosing the white enamel dial with roman chapters, subsidiary seconds, day and date rings, blued steel hands, the glass enclosed 8-day three-train movement with knife edge suspended steel rod pendulum incorporating pallets to dead beat escapement, maintaining power, the trains pivoted with end stops, striking grande sonnerie on two bells, c. 1800 -- 57in.
