Each with spreading shaped oval base on four paneled quatrefoil feet with bead and flower decoration on a matted ground, the base with elaborate foliate scroll panels below a removable half-clad figure emblematic of sight and another emblematic of sound, each enclosed by an openwork archway with flowers, beads and acanthus scrolls, supporting a removable pierced basket with similar decoration, each with shaped oval fitted cut glass dish with floral decoration, fully marked--13 1/2in. (34.3cm.) high

Lot Essay

At the International Exhibition of 1862 E & E Emanuel made a prodigious display of "works of art, etc., in the precious metals; jewels, horological machinery" including the Goodwood Cup of 1859, an extensive table service "allegorical of the International Exhibition" and numerous pieces of presentation silver.
