edo-meiji periods (second half 19th century), signed koma kyuhaku saku
Of rectangular shape lacquered in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e on a kinji ground with an inlaid soft-metal cockerel perched on a large ivy-clad drum, the reverse with an inlaid hen and chick in a landscape of weeping cherry trees, with two swallows flying overhead, interior cases nashiji; fitted with an inlaid ivory ring ojime, and an ivory manju netsuke inlaid in colored ivory and mother-of-pearl with Daikoku's mallet and precious emblems
