Designed in the style of Namikawa Sosuke in wireless and wire-outline techniques in enamels of brown, grey, blues, green and white on a pale grey ground, on one vase a mallard alights on the snow-covered ground and on the other a duck and its mate nestle in snow-laden reeds, a line of wire fretwork and brown enamel above the foot on each vase, bases covered with bubbly brown enamel, rims finished in shakudo
