The kao on the face of the coin is that of Goto Enjo (1721-1784), the thirteenth Shirobei mainline master of the Goto school.

The plate of shakudo nanako is decorated in gold inlay depicting two koban. The face of one is signed Ju Goto and is inscribed with a kao. The frame is shakudo--length 9.6cm., thickness 5.5mm.
