The oval iron plate is carved in an openwork design as a flight of geese. The birds' wingtips are carved in a decorative pattern of short, parallel lines. The rim and edge are rounded. The walls of the sukashi show its three-part construction--height 7.5cm., width 7.3cm., thickness 5.0mm.
