AN ISHIGURO SCHOOL TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800), INSCRIBED JUGAKUSAI ISHIGURO MASAYOSHI WITH KAO
The oval shakudo nanako plate is inlaid in low relief with a rooster in shakudo, copper and gold, near a gold chick. The plants are in shakudo and two tones of gold. The reverse is decorated with the hen in gold and shakudo, and the plants are in shakudo, copper and gold--height 7.3cm., width 6.9cm., thickness 5.0mm.
