The oval inro decorated in gold takamaki-e with details of red, silver and black lacquer with a flock of overlapping cranes reserved on a kinji ground, the interior cases nashiji, fitted with a coral bead ojime and a stained ivory netsuke carved in the form of a phoenix on clouds, chipped- 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.) high
