A BRUSSELS BAROQUE MYTHOLOGICAL TAPESTRY
Late 17th/Early 18th Century
Centrally woven with a scene depicting Diana at rest after the hunt, flanked by her hounds and Cupid, within a dense landscape woven with a stream with frolicking ducks and deer running through the forest with a fortress in the distance, the upper border woven with a cartouche flanked by putti bearing garlands of fruit and flowers and centrally woven with 'DIANA DE FATIGATA QVIESCIT'
