Each with rectangular divided plates beneath an arched foliate-carved cresting enclosing a temple with classical youth and putto, the sides wrapped with trailing foliage, the base with playful putti (2)

Lot Essay

When sold in London, one of the mirrors was 19 cm taller than the other. This later addition has subsequently been removed to restore the mirror to the same height. At the same time a layer of green paint was removed to reveal the present cream color.
