TUSCAN, 15TH CENTURY

The deep bowl with flat narrow rim, painted in green and manganese, the basin with a star, the deeply sloping sides with a foliate scroll, the rim with panels of parallel lines, the underside inscribed in red with Sackler number 82.3.19 (restored, test drill holes filled)--9 1/8in. (23.2cm.) diam.

Sold with thermoluminescence certificate 381s66 dated February 1986 from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, stating that the sample tested was last fired between 470 and 710 years ago (1276-1516).
