TUSCAN, 15TH CENTURY

Of baluster form with beak spout and strap handle, moulded below the spout with a bearded mask and on each side with a pinecone, painted in green and manganese with various geometric patterns, the underside inscribed in red with Sackler number 79.5.22 (restored, test drill holes to underside)--7½in. (19cm.) high

Sold with thermoluminescence certificate 381r66 dated December 1985 from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, stating that the sample tested was last fired between 460 and 700 years ago (1285-1525).
