Painted on a white ground in shades of yellow, blue, green, ochre and manganese with figures by a ruin, a town at the foot of hills in the distance within a manganese and yellow line border, the underside inscribed in red with Sackler number 79.6.32 (minor nicks to edges, shadow of a rectangular lable)--7¾ x 10 3/8in. (19.7 x 26.3cm.)

Sold with thermoluminescence certificate 381u98 dated May 1986 from the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, stating that the sample tested was last fired between 160 and 260 years ago (1726-1826).
