The gu-form vase of lobed quatrefoil section, supported on a tall hollow foot, lightly incised on the central knop with branches of pine bamboo, and prunus, the wide flaring mouth later inscribed with a lengthy poem in kai shu referring to the character of the 'Three Friends' preceded by the characters yu zhi, the faintly mottled stone with some pale brown and whitish inclusions, ground rim chips--4¼in. (10.7cm.) high
