The rectangular upright shrine lacquered on the exterior in roiro-nuri and fitted with a metal top ring and with hinged doors painted on the interiors with lotus on a gilt ground, the gilded inner section containing a wood figure of Amida Nyorai on stepped lotus base, details gilded and fitted with a gilt metal mandorla- 6 1/2 in. (16.4 cm.) high, minor nicks, some losses
