1933 DODGE KC-SERIES (AUSTRALIAN) ROADSTER-CUSTOMIZED
SERIAL NO. DMV 22131CA
Engine: V8. Transmission: Automatic. Suspension: half-elliptic front and rear. Left hand drive.
This export model Dodge was basically a US-marked DP design with a 4 inch shorter wheelbase. The roadster body was a product of the Keswick, Adelaide plant. The car was re-imported into the USA in the 1970's and the serial number listed above was assigned by the California Department of Motor Vehicles since there were no other markings visible on the chassis or engine. Since its reimportation the car was converted from right to left hand drive.
Christie's sold this car as part of the Estate of the well mknown collector M.L. "Bud" Cohn. During its subsequent ownership, the original driveline including the six cylinder engine and transmission, were replaced and fitted with a modern V8 mated to an automatic gearbox. Although not original, these modifications make the car much more powerful and easy to use. It is finished in an attractive maroon with grey interior.
