EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1800)
The tsuba comprising: a four-lobed nigurome plate, the rim carved as a dragon and waves, the web in nanako, (circa 1700), signed Goto Kojo and kao--7.5cm. h., 7cm. w., 3.5mm. th.; a four-lobed nigurome plate carved in high relief with a castle, a water wheel and a bridge with gilt surface, (circa 1750)--6.7cm. h., 5.9cm. w., 4mm. th.; an oval nanako plate carved with gilded sprays of flowers and leaves, (circa 1750)--6.3cm. h., 5.9cm. w., 4mm. th.; a round, sammai awase plate of shakudo with a repousse design of gold-accented yamabushi, (circa 1700)--7cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; a mokko brass plate decorated with a wave pattern, (Higo style, circa 1800)--6cm. h., 5mm. th.; a brass, tanto size plate carved as a puppy with a cord, and an abalone shell, (circa 1800)--5.7cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; a mokko, cast-brass plate, (circa 1700) (7)
