FIVE GOTO STYLE TSUBA
MOMOYAMA/EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1600-1800)
The shakudo nanako tsuba comprising: a mokko plate carved on both sides in relief with chrysanthemum blossoms and a fence, (Waki Goto style, circa 1700)--7.7cm. h., 4mm. th.; a kirikome mokko plate with lines of silver nanako and a relief of gold cherry blossoms on both sides, (Yoshioka style, circa 1750)--7.5cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; a round plate carved with raised chrysanthemums, five in gold on the face and three on the reverse, with shakudo rim cover, (the plate may have been cut down in size), (circa 1600)--6.7cm. h., 3.5mm. th.; an oval plate carved with a gold-surface dragon in relief around the rim, (Waki Goto style, circa 1750)--6.9cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; a kirikome mokko plate with a double gold band at the edge, the web with tiny flowers in two tones of gold, (circa 1800)--6.2cm. h., 3.5mm. th.
