The tsuba comprising: a round iron plate pierced with designs of birds, clouds, and a willow tree, signed Bushu ju Toshinobu (unrecorded, circa 1650-1700)--7.3cm. h., 7.1cm. w., 5mm. th.; a rounded-square, iron plate pierced with a floral openwork design (classic, late Choshu), signed Choshu Hagi ju Sanki Fujiwara (remainder of signature obscured by rust)--7.1cm. h., 6.7cm. w., 4.5mm. th.; a round iron plate pierced with six open fans forming a star pattern, signed Bushu ju Tanabe Masakatsu (unrecorded, circa 1800)--7.1cm. h., 7cm. w., 5mm. th.; a dark shibuichi plate carved in the round with cranes and pine trees with gold nunome clouds top and bottom (in Sunagawa style), signed on a copper oval inset Mitsumasa, (circa 1850)--7cm. h., 6.5cm. w., 5mm. th.; a flat shakudo plate pierced with a Genji mon and a log bar, lower right, (some denting and stains to the surface), (tachikanagushi work, circa 1500)--7.9cm. h., 7.8cm. w., 3mm. th.; a large iron plate carved in the web with many stylized plovers in flight, (some rust areas), (circa 1850)--8.7cm. h., 8.5cm. w., 5.5mm. th., a round iron plate pierced with two mushrooms on a radiating file mark ground, over slightly raised plum blossom and bud pattern etched into surface (in old Hoan school style, circa 1650)--7.8cm. h, 3.5mm. th.; a thick, oval iron plate, acid-etched with a plum blossom design extending over the plate's edge, signed Kofu ju Namitoshi, (a student of Inoue Tatsutoshi, circa 1800)--7.9cm. h., 7.5cm. w., 5.5mm. th.
